FOI Submission

If you have requested and received official records through a Municipal Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (MFIPPA) request or hold other official public domain municipal documents you can contribute them to the central public repository using the form below.

What We Accept

  • Official FOI / MFIPPA Disclosure Packages (complete PDF release packages).
  • Municipal Staff Reports, Communications, & Memos received through official channels.
  • Planning Documents, Infrastructure Reports, & Environmental Assessments.
  • Historical Public Records related to City of North Bay governance, committees, and local decision-making.

Submission Guidelines

  • Keep Packages Intact: Please submit complete disclosure packages whenever possible, including the initial request summary and institution response letter.
  • Original Digital Files Preferred: If you received digital PDFs, please submit the original files rather than print scans. Original PDFs allow full-text searching (OCR) across the Master Index.
  • Redactions: Official redactions applied by the issuing institution (e.g., under MFIPPA) should remain intact.

We recognize that record contributors may wish to protect their identity

  • Default Anonymity: Unless you explicitly request public credit, all document contributions are treated as anonymous.
  • No Metadata Tracking: We strip identifying email headers or personal submitter metadata prior to uploading documents to the public Google Drive archive.
  • Anonymous Submissions: If you prefer total anonymity when transferring files, you may send them using an encrypted email service (such as ProtonMail) or via temporary secure file transfer platforms (like SwissTransfer or Wormhole) sent to thenorthbayfiles@gmail.com.

Important Notice: The North Bay Files only hosts official primary sources, public records, and institutional disclosures. We do not accept or publish unverified leaks, private personal correspondence outside public business, or unredacted personal information of non-public individuals.
